Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival Concert
Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival presents students from the 2025 summer festival performing classical chamber works for string quartet. Green Mountain’s mission is to foster artistic excellence as well as the spirit of community engagement in its students. Over the course of the four week program, which is held at St. Michael’s College, each of GMCMF’s 50+ student string quartets performs at businesses and venues in and around Burlington, Vermont as part of the Classical Encounters Series or Quartet Hops. Over 70% of attending students receive some form of scholarship, which is made possible by the generous donations of those who support GMCMF.

Hebrew Kirtan (Devotional Singing)
Local soul-singer Rachel Lovins, joins Kirtan artist Richard Gans in a transformative, meditative musical experience that bridges the physical world and the world of spirit.
Rachel and Richard led Kirtan (devotional singing) together for many years in Connecticut. Join them in Vermont for a special reunion evening, accompanied by guitarist Xavier Serrano, percussionist Stephan Brandstatter, and flutist Marsha Stern.
No vocal talent, Hebrew knowledge or religious affiliation necessary – just bring your good spirit!
Suggested donation $10-$20
Chair and floor seating provided. Feel free to bring your own cushion or BackJack.

Leonard Cohen, 9 Years Gone
At this community event we will remember
the life, poetry, and music of Leonard Cohen (1934-2016) Middlebury Professor Shalom Goldman will speak about Cohen's religious and spiritual ideas, and his ties to both
the Jewish and Buddhist traditions. We will listen to recordings of Cohen's songs and
watch videos of his great performances.
Good will offerings gratefully accepted.
Light refreshments will be served.

Paul Orgel
A concert to benefit Full Circle Preschool

Pianist Paul Orgel has concertized throughout the United States, Europe, and China as a recitalist, soloist with orchestra and chamber musician. Critics have praised his playing for its “subtlety and attention to nuance” (Philadelphia Inquirer), “rare pathos” (New York Times), “brilliant technique, sense of humor and fantasy” (Bridgeport Post), “warmth and beauty of sound” (Barre-Montpelier Times Argus), and “power and grace” (Vermont Times).

Come in from the cold and join us for an evening of classical music played by our very talented congregants. Cheese and libations will accompany this performance.

Family Hanukkah Glow Party and Concert with Joanie Leeds
Kids of all ages come celebrate Hanukkah with the catchy pop tunes of Grammy winner Joanie Leeds! Latkes, dreidels, and lots of Hanukkah fun as we light the second candle together.
This is event is free and open to all thanks to JCVT and a generous grant from the Covenant Foundation.

Zoë Keating: OZ Concert to Benefit Full Circle Preschool
Join us for a special evening performance with Zoë Keating, consisting of roughly an hour of performance and a short discussion. Guests will have the option of purchasing tickets for a pre-event reception with Zoë.
Proceeds from the evening will support Full Circle Preschool.
About The Artist
Zoë Keating is an Emmy nominated composer and cellist known for her innovative use of technology in live performance. She blends classical training with electronic manipulation, creating hauntingly beautiful and intricate soundscapes. Her solo cello pieces have garnered critical acclaim and a devoted fanbase

Sounds In The Sanctuary
Founded in 2000 with Alexandra Kazovsky, violin, Amit Even-Tov, cello, Gershon Gerchikov, violin, and Jan Gruning, viola. They are the recipient of the prestigious Cleveland Quartet Award.

Klezmer Concert
Tickets are only $10 at the door, with farm-fresh falafel and beverages for sale at the event.


Musiacal Havdalah
Join us for a night of music sharing and storytelling by OZ community members of all ages through Blue Grass and Folk music! Light refreshments and Jewish spiritual melodies (niggunim) at 8 pm to close out Shabbat, with a short Havdalah service at 8:45 pm, followed by the Blue Grass and Folk coffee house until 10 pm.

Whispers from the past (middlebury havurah)
“Whispers from the Past” is a concert that interweaves music composed during the Holocaust with ancestral Jewish melodies- a program that transcends a time of sorrow with the human desire for hope. Performing is Temple Trio, a string trio consisting of violin, viola and cello.
Besides music of composers who perished in the camps such as Viktor Ullmann, Gideon Klein and Hans Krasa, there will be music of two composers who lived through the Holocaust, as well as some Yiddish songs.
Temple Trio are players of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra (Laura Markowitz, violin; Ana Ruesink, viola; and John Dunlop, cello). Berta Frank will host the event.
