Triangle
Temple Sinai will be hosting a special community showing of Vermont Stage's "Triangle" by Laurie Brooks, a stylistically thrilling play about the young immigrants who worked at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory leading up to its infamous fire of 1911. The play will be followed by a theatrical companion piece focusing on the Jewish story behind the story. Show runs about 1.5 hrs, followed by a reception, hosted by Sisterhood, in the social hall.

Join Flying Pig Bookstore at Shelburne Town Hall Monday, February 24th at 7PM, for an evening with Jack Fairweather to celebrate the launch of his new book, The Prosecutor: One Man’s Battle to Bring Nazis to Justice.

Jan Zatzman Orlansky, Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) will teach some basic tangles that we will do together. The creative part comes when you incorporate these patterns in your own unique ways. You may be pleasantly surprised by your creativity!
No special equipment is necessary. Here is a list of suggested materials that you probably have at home and should have at hand for the workshop:

Charcoal pencil for shading
Gold gel pen

Connecting with our Hidden Light through the mystical teachings of Hanukkah
Exploring our Natural Creativity through Spiritual Teachings of Hanukkah, Tu B’Shvat and Purim
We will be focusing on the teachings on Hanukkah and how they resonate with each person. We will explore selected texts from the Jewish tradition in Hevrutah (with a study partner) and then will follow a simple process to creatively express ourselves through making art. No previous knowledge of Hebrew, Jewish Text study or artistic expression necessary! Materials provided. (The process we will use comes from the Jewish Studio Project that R. Tobie Weisman has been learning for the past year) Co-sponsored by Beth Jacob and JCVT.

Author Miri Leshem-Pelly Presentation
Miri Leshem-Pelly will be visiting Temple Sinai to teach children and their families about the amazing beauty and diversity of Israel's flora and fauna. Her new book, A Feather, A Pebble, A Shell follows a girl’s hikes through the diverse nature sites of Israel.
Join us as Miri shares her creative process, reads her new book, and teaches us about the natural wonders of Israel

Vermont Jewish Poets Gathering Monthly Workshop
Vermont Jewish Poets is offering a monthly poetry workshop open to any Vermont poet identifying as Jewish. We will meet the 3rd Monday of each month beginning October 21, 2024, from 6-7:30 on Zoom. Join a welcoming space where we give and receive constructive feedback on poems-in-progress. Register here to receive a link to our workshop meeting.

Zoë Keating: OZ Concert to Benefit Full Circle Preschool
Join us for a special evening performance with Zoë Keating, consisting of roughly an hour of performance and a short discussion. Guests will have the option of purchasing tickets for a pre-event reception with Zoë.
Proceeds from the evening will support Full Circle Preschool.

Poetry Session Teaching with Dr. Rachel Korazim
Dr Rachel Korazim
Rachel is a Jewish education consultant at the Shalom Hartman Institute in curriculum development for Israel and Holocaust education. Rachel opens for her audiences a window to Israeli society through literature; through stories, poems and songs of the best of Israel’s writers. Since October 7th, she has collected, translated, and taught the voices of Israeli and Palestinian poets. These special sessions on Zoom will provide a unique opportunity to read, discuss, reflect, and connect with the poetry, voices, and emotions of the moment through Rachel's teachings.
Since the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic – Rachel created a global community of hundreds of learners who meet to study Israeli poetry online regularly –
Rachel teaches at Israel’s well known learning centers such as Pardes and the Shalom Hartman Institutes as well as numerous world Jewish communities.
